Moderators Andavari Posted August 20, 2006 Moderators Share Posted August 20, 2006 If the Halo CE game has an auto-updater try that to see if it will update itself. If not check the game website for an update patch. Strange how after all these years ATI cards always have some sort of conflict with allot of games. zaphirer
Which graphics card do you have? ATi has different drivers for AiWs, Radeons, etc. Edit: Checked the error message: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default...amp;folderID=

Moderators rridgely Posted August 21, 2006 Moderators Share Posted August 21, 2006 Click start>run> enter in dxdiag and then say yes if a text box comes up. Then click the display tab and make sure everything is enabled. If it is then try clicking the test buttons.

zaphirer
hmm, they all say not available. guess i need to download them, where can i get that? It's all contained within Windows, you don't have to download anything. You must have the wrong tab open.

Moderators Andavari Posted August 21, 2006 Moderators Share Posted August 21, 2006 Just a guess but if something has gone buggy in Microsoft DirectX you may need to download and reinstall it http://www.microsoft.com/directx/. Some over aggressive registry cleaners can also damage DirectX, even Microsoft's own RegClean which used to always damage one or two registry entries related to DirectX - at least it did on Win98. TheFiresInTheSky
tried that but had no luck. i decided to try to get some toshiba drivers so i got one for the display, started installing it then got the blue screen and it restarted. i finally got it out of my startup but im not sure why it did this or how i can fix it.
