Helge
CCleaner starts with System start (that's what I want it to do). The little Icon appears next to the Windows Clock. Sometimes on start the brush is wiping, sometimes not. But than the little Icon disappeares and I have to start CCleaner again, manually. I tried deinstalling and reinstalling CCleaner, no difference Version 5.61 (latest Version), 64 bit Windows 10, 64 bit GData Internet Security Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Moderators Nergal Posted September 28, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2019 Sounds like you checked off the option for run at start-up. The words used in that option are confusing, it means run a clean at start-up, which is what you are seeing happen. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Helge
Thank you for answering. The option for run at start-up is checked, CCleaner starts automatically and than the Little icon in the sys tray disappears. When I start CCleaner manually, everything is fine. Strange. Moderators Andavari Posted September 28, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2019 It disappears because it cleans automatically, and then closes itself which is the normal operation in 'Options > Settings' for 'Run CCleaner when the computer starts'. If you want it always running resident go into 'Options > Smart Cleaning'.
