Why have people download it manually if it's so important?

Some people won't know how to do that.

Why, because they need to sync their system clock to realize it's 2019, and we expect this to be in Automatic Updates. Or on the next feature update just allow the full removal of IE and be done with it.

I agree. While I don't use IE11, I decided to install the KB anyway. I had to click on several links to finally get to the download page - http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4522007

Ask Win Updates to check for updates.. it should be there now as it was released yesterday through the updates platform (along with yet another .net framework etc)

That must be that new optional update it's showing me: KB4517211

Then again maybe not. Those optional updates I will now forever ignore until they're mandatory, don't feel like being a beta tester guinea pig for them again.

Just noticed in Automatic Updates they should let that text be copied to the clipboard, or offer a URL link for someone to see what the update is because "Download and Install now" didn't go so well a very short time ago earlier this month.

Yes it's the optional update. You'll get it anyway in a couple of weeks automatically.

Installed it without issue.
