Moderators Nergal Posted September 5, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 5, 2019 We're going to need more information from both of you. Start with what happens at install. What error message do you see, if any. What windows version? What antivirus do you use? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators nukecad Posted September 5, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 5, 2019 It helps if you say exactly what error you are experiencing. The most common is that CCleaner is already running in the background. (Smart Cleaning maybe). Go into task manager and "end task" for any instances of CC that are running, then try installing the new version. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Perfect Was getting but ending the task in the background seemed to solve the problem
billg
I am experiencing the same issue and get the same error message. Ending ccleaner in task manger does not fix the problem.

DuckDuckGoose
I am also having an issue with this installation, download is ok, click on install, it starts to install, and then puff, the install and app disappear and nothing happens. Been like this for the past few weeks for me, on either desktop or laptop running windows 10 Pro with latest update.

(last one in list) https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/builds What operating system and antivirus are you running? Have you made sure CCleaner isn't already running in Windows taskmanager? Run us through EXACTLY what you do when trying to download and install. Alan C
I updated my free download to the latest version and at the end of the install the screen went blue and said " locking" and then my W10 laptop switched off and I cannot get it to boot. It looks dead. A Carroll
Moderators hazelnut Posted September 11, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 11, 2019 Where did you get the CCleaner download from? Unplug your laptop from the power lead. Remove the laptop battery. Press and hold the laptop on/off button for 20 seconds or so. Plug the power lead back in and see if the laptop boots now.
