Charlie Zuck
I have used CCleaner for years and like it very much. However lately it has become extremely slow when cleaning Firefox cache and profiles, taking as long as 300 seconds to complete a clean. What is being done or what can be done to remedy this? I have only had this problem the last month or so. I have already been trying another cleaner on my desktop because of this problem.
Moderators Andavari Posted August 27, 2019 Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2019 Make sure you haven't enabled any Secure Deletion method found in CCleaner at: Options > Settings

Firefox cache and profiles seem to slow it down and only in the last month. Someone changed something!
Moderators Andavari Posted August 28, 2019 Moderators Share Posted August 28, 2019 A slow down could be from a number of things: * If you've added an un-trimmed Winapp2.ini file, either the community one from here, or elsewhere, which has apps in it that aren't installed on your system it will likely cause CCleaner to have a significant delay. * In CCleaner's Applications (tab): Untick under the Firefox list: Compact Databases * Secure File deletion, which you've already ruled out. * Possibly some corruption in your Firefox profile.
