Hang up

I have just installed CCleaner Professional on my Windows 10 64 bit machine. The cleaner hangs up at 44%. I have uninstaller and reinstalled the program but have the same problem. Any help would be appreciated

44% through the install or the cleaning? If the cleaning, is it Easy Clean, Custom Clean, or one of the other tools? Can you confirm your CCleaner version number (should be 5.60) and Windows 10 build (you get get this from "About My PC" from the Windows Search bar and scrolling down to Windows specifications - it's probably a number like 1803, 1809 or 1903).

In CCleaner itself, have you got any of the Advanced options checked under Custom Clean > Windows > Advanced? ("Wipe Free Space" can add a bit of time to a clean and is not recommended for everyday use)

Computers work in strange and wonderful,,(sometimes) ways. After my post, a small CCleaner window popped up in the lower right hand corner of my desktop and stated that my C drive needed a cleaning and offered to do it. I clicked on it, and low and behold, the cleaner ran all the way through.

. I will add that I'd rather not be without CCleaner. Several times I had operating problems that were rapidly fixed with a registry scan and cleaning.
