Zarruler
Hi I wanted to wipe my drive on my Tablet which is running Windows 10. I get "C: is NOT recommended. Drive C: is solid-state drive (SSD) which can wear out prematurely when securely wiped.@ Is it just a precaution or is it really dangerous? So there is no way to do it on SSD? I just ordered a laptop with SSD drive so will have a problem. Please help regards
Admin Dave CCleaner Posted May 28, 2019 Admin Share Posted May 28, 2019 SSDs are more prone to wear, so it is not recommended to do things like this on a regular basis to them. Every now and then won't hurt. Note that this is not a maintenance activity, but rather a one-off way to torch sensitive files after deletion.
