recuva very cheap in ebay legal?

General rules of thumb-

1. Software on ebay and similar sites is often (I'd even say usually) counterfeit or hacked, avoid it.
2. If it sounds too good a deal then it probably is.
3. Always get your software direct from the developer, even free software.

Do you need the pro features. (Virtual disc support, automatic updates, 1 years priority support)?
If not then just download the free version from Piriform, it does exactly the same recovery job as the pro.

For your particular ebay link I note that it says there are 7 copies for sale.
Is it likely that someone would have bought 7 copies that they no longer want? (Or is it more likely they actually have hundreds of counterfeits, all with the same activation code).
Also " Seller does not accept returns" should ring alarm bells.

As an example Malwarebytes have recently tightened up their licensing controls.
There are now lots of people complaining on their forum that their 'validly bought' license no longer works.
On investigation 99% turn out to be a hacked/counterfeit license bought cheaply from an ebay (or similar) seller.

While there are some legitimate resellers of Piriform software online, anything sold at this price is pretty much always an illegal hacked/cracked version.  We cannot guarantee that it will work, or that it won't be disabled at some point in the future.  Certainly no support is available for pirated software. 

While we're working with eBay to protect customers from this sort of thing, a few always slip through the cracks. eBay has now been notified about this one, but if you have already purchased I would recommend requesting a refund before the seller disappears.
