Ray1952
I ran Ccleanup & now some of my applications are not starting properly. According to the Task Manager they appear to have started and are consuming CPU space but no front end GUI is showing. Suggestions?
Moderators Nergal Posted May 10, 2019 Moderators Share Posted May 10, 2019 Did you only clean or did you use the registry section? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators Nergal Posted May 10, 2019 Moderators Share Posted May 10, 2019 Did you backup the registry entries before removal. If so, you can try to restore it (may not work depending on the entries removed). I'm assuming you ran it blindly, the best advice for future registry cleaning is in my signature below this post. Ray1952
Yes, I also see that on the website. Unfortunately, there is no file, even after switching on the hidden files selection, which shows a backup file that would relate to CCleaner
Moderators Andavari Posted May 11, 2019 Moderators Share Posted May 11, 2019 CCleaner registry backups will have a naming format that starts with CC followed by a bunch of numbers which include date/time and end with the .reg extension. I would by default save into the Documents folder unless you've previously told it to backup elsewhere in the past, then it would use that non-default location.
