crizal
Hello all. A friend is getting an HP laptop that'll be using Windows 10 in S Mode. She's currently using CCleaner Slim on her desktop and I know that cannot be installed on an S Mode operating system. Does anyone know if CCleaner Portable on a USB stick will work or is she limited to the built-in Windows cleaning tools? Any information appreciated. Moderators Andavari Posted April 20, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 20, 2019 From everything I've seen on YouTube about it the only programs ("apps") that will work on it have to be from the Microsoft Store. Your friend can however upgrade at an additional cost I believe to Windows 10 Home if it's too limiting.

Moderators Andavari Posted April 20, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 20, 2019 Just don't try to follow any help links on that page Hazelnut, Microsoft and their BROKEN links seem like a trend and are very prevalent.
Moderators hazelnut Posted April 20, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 20, 2019 No it was only the info their that tells you how to get out of S mode that I mentioned purely for info. crizal
@hazelnut and @Andavari -- Many thanks for responding. Everything I read says users of S mode are restricted to the Microsoft Store apps. My friend wants to use S mode so she won't be able to use CCleaner on that machine. Moderators Andavari Posted April 20, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 20, 2019 A batch file should work instead, or better yet look for an actual "replacement" on the Microsoft Store.
