Bucky Kid
Hello, starting from CCleaner 5.44, continuing to 5.45 the scheduled cleanup is not being performed. I notice it by seeing content that should be deleted still present. Sporadically I also see crash message of CCleaner, but mostly silent. The schedule is sane but if I launch CCleaner64 /AUTO, the tray icon shortly appears and quickly disappears. In task scheduler I see the process is gone, so there must be something quitting the task prematurely. If I open full interface and perform by click Analysis + Cleanup, the job is completed (except it requires me all browsers to close). I verified this problem is gone if I revert to CCleaner 5.43.6522 I attach the program config files for case of reproducing the problem. cc_cfg.rar
Moderators nukecad Posted August 26, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 26, 2018 5.45 has been officially withdrawn due to various problems. 5.44 had it's own issues, and many have stopped using that one as well. If 5.43 is working how you want then I would stick with that version for now. (PS. You do know there was a 'hotfix' for that 5.43 version? You might want to go to Filehippo and get the fixed version if you have the original installer). 5.46 should be out sometime this week. We're all interested to see just what's been changed. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? Bucky Kid
Is 5.43.6522 the build# of CC 5.43 hotfix ? I don't find anything more recent at Filehippo and from first post this is build I'm having installed.
Moderators nukecad Posted August 26, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 26, 2018 I'm on the phone so can't check that version number. The one now on Filehippo will be the 'fixed' one. TBH if I remember correctly the problem one was only available for a few days before it was fixed, so you will only have it if you downloaded it in those first few days. I know I have both saved on my laptop but as I say I'm on my phone here (in the pub). *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators nukecad Posted August 27, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2018 The ones I have on the laptop are also different sizes. The installer for 5.43.6520 (64 bit) I dowloaded on 24.05.2018 and it is 15,445 KB The installer for 5.43.6522 (64 bit) I dowloaded the next day on 25.05.2018 and it is 15,468 KB So yes, .6522 is the hotfixed one. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Bucky Kid
Dilettantes, updated to CC 5.46, and the old known crash box is still present. Manual cleaning OK, but /AUTO crashes CCleaner. I have referred my issue by bug submit form too so it seems the staff completely ignores bug reports, why?
Moderators mta Posted September 1, 2018 Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2018 apparently the /AUTO fix was never on the horizon to be included in the v5.46 butt-saving release. Admins have suggested a fix is known and in the pipeline. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data.
