All Knowing
Hi.....Why do I get a pop-up stating that CC Cleaner wants to make changes? To make the changes it asks for the administrator's password......It does this twice while it is cleaning.....
Moderators mta Posted August 8, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 8, 2018 it's been a bug-bear for all Mac users since it's appearance in the latest release. as to whether it's a bug or some sort of forced programming due to Apple, is not known as no-one has been forthcoming with an explanation. Moderators Nergal Posted August 8, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 8, 2018 To, maybe, say it in a different way from MTA. the moderators have pointed the developers into the direction of this bug. They, the devs, have yet to answer why or if this is fixable. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. FairFrank
This bug is making the software annoying and useless. Each time you close a browser it starts cleaning and then asks two times for your approval by entering the admin password.
kadona76
CCleaner wants to make changes but it does not recognise my password and I cannot change it. It is not changeable on my profile.
Moderators mta Posted August 9, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 9, 2018 it is asking for your Mac password - not your CC password! kadona76
I tried that too, but to no avail. I eventually clicked the 'cancel' button and the cleaning proceeded, but it kept popping up all the time, so I kept cancelling.
