xViniF
I've been using CCleaner for a few years now and this is the first time I ran into this problem. I change "Monitoring" options and disable everything. It is still running. I end its task. I disable it from starting with Windows on Task Manager. Restart the computer It is still there. Starts automatically. The monitoring is active again (by itself) and I have to end the task manually.
Moderators hazelnut Posted July 31, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 31, 2018 It is a problem with 5.45 build. Piriform are going to fix things. Try going back to the last build. https://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/history/ Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com

rogerT42
The simplest solution I found that has worked now for multiple re-boots is to use SysInternals Autoruns - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns After starting Autoruns in the "Everything" tab, type ccleaner in the filter box and uncheck CCleaner Update in the Task Scheduler section.
