PhM
Hi, I'm trying CCleaner pro compared to free to see if it made a difference, no it does not. My issue is that I have a laptop with a very small SSD, and Windows 8.1 32 bits is now using 60% of it! As you know, Windows grows over time. Analyzing further this is WinSxS that is growing as it gets mini update and extra files. So bottom line ... is there any mean (including another software!) that can trim the fat? APMichael
You could try the following options: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/winsxs-folder-cleanup-windows-8-1.
Moderators mta Posted July 15, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 15, 2018 how big is the SSD? Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. PhM
Thanks APMichael, I'll try that. The disk is 22 GB. This is an Asus X205TA Notebook. For a cost of 200 euros you have a tiny light machine that can do a lot of things (Video, Internet, Office etc.)
