alanbo
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit v. 1803 including all current updates & Windows Home 64 bit 1803 including all current updates CCleaner v5.44.6575 64 bit free version Since upgrading to v.44.6575 CCleaner does not clean on startup, even though that option is selected in Options/Settings. The CCleaner icon in the taskbar says "CCleaner (Cleaning...)" but does not show a percentage like previous versions. When opened CCleaner is not cleaning, so the taskbar icon never reverts to "CCleaner monitoring is active" after cleaning. When reverting to v.5.43.6522 it behaves as it should - cleaning on startup, correct taskbar icon messages.
PVasileff
Absolutely same problem here - Tested on 2 ASUS Laptop with: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit v. 1803 including all current updates CCleaner v5.44.6575 64 bit free version. When my laptop starting up - in tray icon I see for a few seconds the icon of CCleaner and after that its gone. When I check manualy after that - I see many files for cleanup - So I confirm - CCleaner v5.44.6575 not delete them at startup.
Moderators mta Posted August 24, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 24, 2018 Wasn’t that one of the issues with v5.44 and we were telling users to go back to an earlier version??? Guest Stephen CCleaner
I believe this has the same root cause as the Recycle Bin context menu issue. We are working on a fix.
PierreS
Hello, Using Windows 10 Professional build 17744 (Insider preview, slow ring) and CCleaner free edition 5.46.6652. I have the same problem: CCleaner is set to clean on startup, but doesn't actually do anything. Every other function appears to work well. Great program! Moderators Nergal Posted September 2, 2018 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2018 Do you have skipuac enabled in ccleaner preferences? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. It's been enabled ever since that setting became available. I assume so, it occurred just as I was logging on to my computer, and CCleaner is set to clean at startup… "Do not mock the crocodile until you've finished crossing the river" (African proverb)
