Moderators Andavari Posted July 2, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 2, 2018 On 6/30/2018 at 05:48, Bastet said: pre-ticked unwanted software I haven''t trusted installer/setup packages for a very long time now as it seems even once good trustworthy software will eventually go the route of in my mind malware (even if it isn't technically malicious) by including adware or spyware. That's why I switched to using primarily portable versions of software, and if a software doesn't offer a portable version I'll usually not even bother with it and find an alternative that is portable. For those on a rare chance programs I'm willing to bite the bullet and actually install I first unpack the setup file with 7-Zip, or if it's in an Inno Setup package I'll unpack those with innounp that way I can manually inspect the files before actually installing anything.
