Why in the Options-Settings, is Local Disc (C):(SSD) ticked by default?

On my two laptops, under Options-Settings in CCleaner, for the heading "Wipe Free Space Drives", Local Disc (C):(SSD) is ticked by default.

I am just reading now that an SSD should never be wiped.

So why by default is Local Disc (C):(SSD) ticked?

Has CCleaner been wiping by SSD every time I have used the "Cleaner" function of CCleaner ?

(I think I should also note that "Normal file deletion" is also ticked by default).

Thanks!
