garage_dba Posted May 16, 2018 Share Posted May 16, 2018 after install today the version still says 5.42.6495 . Also cleaning does nothing make the gui disapper. Moderators mta Posted May 16, 2018 Moderators Share Posted May 16, 2018 try this; uninstall your current version first. then go into the Program Files folder for CC and delete its contents (keep the .ini file if you have customised settings) download the latest build from here; https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds reboot the PC then install CC from your downloaded file. if no luck, try the install with the PC in Safe Mode. and try the Slim or Portable builds to see if they work. Backup now & backup often.It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. It finds stuff when you Analyze but when you "Run Cleaner" the app dissapears. When you open the app again and Analyze, you get the same files in the list. Nothing in Windows logs about this program.
