SATA II 3.0Gb/s Drive bookmark slow.

My main drive is a Seagate SATA II 3.0Gb/s and my secondary drive is a SATA I 1.5Gb/s yet when I run the Bookmark I get strange results my SATA II drive performance is 1.87 MB/s and my SATA I drive Performance is 30 MB/s

This seems totally backwards as the SATA II drive should be twice as fast per specs.

What could be causing this issue? I have ran defrag and now it only shows a 1% fragmented.

It is a 750Gb drive with 58% freespace and the SATA I drive is a Seagate also 250GB with 44% freespace.

I've noticed lately my computer hanging up andthe HD light being lit basically HD is running and then when the HD stops running the computer works normally again.

How can I fix this issue?

double check how those drives are connected to your motherboard.

some SATA ports on the mobo are coloured to represent different access speeds.

Backup now & backup often.
