Error updating CCleaner Pro

I'm currently running CCleaner Pro 5.31.6105 (64 bit)

 

For the last couple of updates that have been available I've received the following error when attempting to update CCleaner:

 

CCleaner could not be updated.
0x2f08: A redirect request will change a secure to a non-secure connection

 

Following this post I manually updated to the latest version but clearly this has not worked as I receive the same error again when I try to update to 5.32.6129

 

Another manual update required here but it would be nice to be able to update via the app again. Any ideas?

there has been word from the Admins that this may be due to an internet setting.

 

go to Control Panel, Internet Options, Advanced tab, scroll to the bottom, in the Security section, and tick any of the Use TLS versions.

then try the update process again and post back your outcome.

Have 5.29.6033 and unable to update. I thought it was a feature of Pro to update automatically. What's up??

Does it show any error message when you attempt to update. My pro has updated perfectly.

UPDATE - I can confirm that TLS settings are all checked in Internet Options but I'm still getting exactly the same error when trying to update. I have even completely uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version but no joy. 

 

It seems I'm not the only one with this problem.

uninstall your current version first.

then go into the Program Files folder for CC and delete its contents (keep the .ini file if you have customised settings).

download the latest build from here; https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds

reboot the PC

install CC from your downloaded file.

 

if no luck, try the install with the PC in Safe Mode.

Since you posted in a very old thread you may have missed this
