Wrong version of Adobe flash player plugin PPAPI detected

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm using latest version on Win10 1703 Build 15063.250 and browser SRWare Iron x64.

Under Google Chrome plugins, a previous version of the plugin is detected (25.0.0.127) but I have the latest version installed (25.0.0.148).

As shown in the screenshot, a 25.0.0.127 file is not present anymore on my system (I checked in the registry too).

How is this possible and how can it be corrected ?

Thanks for your time ! :)

have you tried manually uninstalling the current flash version?

they have a removal tool here; https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

then get the latest version from here; fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe

you can check what version you have from here; http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/

Backup now & backup often.

Thanks for your reply, mta.

Unfortunately, after uninstalling with the removal tool, the plugin is still showing up in CCleaner (as shown in my first post) ...

I now also noticed a strange behavior between this browser and CCleaner :

- if I deactivate the plugin in CCleaner, it will always stay deactivated in the browser, even if I reactivate it (in the browser).

- if I deactivate the plugin in the browser, it still shows as activated in CCleaner.

I really don't find an explanation for this ... Any suggestions are welcome.
