Cleaner wants to close w.Explorer and only shows frames of photos

Hi,

this is my first post as CCleaner has worked very well over the years and any system I have used.

 

A couple of days ago it started a strange behaviour though. I'm using Cleaner V. 5.25.5902 (64) on my Win10 V. 1607 build 14393.576

 

We're all used to Cleaner asking to shut down the browser before the cleaning process can be started, but now it also demands to close the windows explorer.

 

Also it erases a number of "thumbcaches", e.g.:

C:\Users\Agando\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\thumbcache_48.db    1 KB

 

When opening my photo thumbs the frames are there but the actual photos inside the thumbframes are not visible until I open it by a photo software, i.e. I have no thumb previews any more.

 

Any ideas?
