JDPower 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 Apparently talks are now ongoing between the 2 companies https://techtalk.pcpitstop.com/2016/12/23/pcpitstop-addresses-malwarebytes-claims/ Ooh, some of them answers are a bit whiffy

Andavari 1 Report post Posted January 2, 2017 I don't user either one of them anymore. Gave up on PC Pitstop ages ago, but it was interesting learning that they're the ones making PCMatic (who by the way have a TV commercial in the U.S.A.) albeit I'll never use it. I've not used PC Pitstop in years. Used to regularly use their pitstop scan thing, was signed up to their newsletter, regular on their forum, but the scanner and articles turned to s*** and they're just constantly pushing their crappy software. Unsubbed from their newsletter recently too as they're obsessed with trying to make ransomware the worlds scariest thing every single week
hazelnut 2 Report post Posted January 2, 2017 Ooh, some of them answers are a bit whiffy Ongoing thread on BleepingComputer about this. It didn't help that using their PCmatic SuperShield an AV Comparatives test showed PCPitstop had better detection results than Malwarebytes (scroll down slightly for Oct detection rates) http://techtalk.pcpitstop.com/2016/11/29/important-security-test-decade/

I think we can safely say they've abandoned it lol, don't think it's changed since I last used it a few years ago. Told me I had to defrag my drive (that's my SSD drive!), and apparently I only have two processes running on my whole computer!!! I knew I ran a lean machine, but that was news to me

mta 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 in case the free version users don't get notifications about updates, v3.0.6.1469 released this week; https://www.malwarebytes.com/
Andavari 1 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 Has anyone else tried out Zemana Anti-Malware (Free)? When I used it it sort of reminds me of MBAM and Hitman Pro combined for what it does.
hazelnut 2 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 I use Zemana paid on 2 of my machines (one of them being XP) I like it, and when there is a new build it has the fasted updater I have ever seen!
Andavari 1 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 I think it was you Hazelnut that first clued me into it, then I forgot all about it only to rediscover it again via a YouTube reviewer using it in a test to eliminate malware. If for whatever reason someone has issues using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (I certainly do, it doesn't work correctly on my system anymore without having serious buggy issues) give Zemana AntiMalware a try. They should never have put v3 on General Release as it is, IMO it's still a Beta version and is losing them customers. I hadn't heard of Zemana, I'll give it a look. Andavari 1 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 I can't use version 2 either, immediately after updating the signature files it starts acting strange.
