DDR4 memory specification(s)

My computer, purchased almost a year ago, specifies memory as "16GB DDR4-3000".

Speccy reports memory as "16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1498MHz (15-16-16-35)"

Admitedly, I'm a memory novice. But I thought the DDR4-3000 was memory type=DDR4, &

memory speed=3000MHz. That doesn't seem compatible with the Speccy specification of

"Unknown" & "1498MHz".

Concern?

Thanks.

Hi gmak and welcome,

See if a recent discussion here; https://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=46980&hl=%2Bdual+%2Bchannel sheds any light on your question.

As to the "unknown", is that from the Manufacturer field?

Speccy interrogates the hardware's firmware fields via WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) to get most of the info it displays.

It could simply be that the manufacturer hasn't filled in all the appropriate fields.

you can probably factor in the usual GB versus GiB differences or just 'rounding' errors.
