balloon66
Sorry for my bad english: Using windows control panel in windows 10 pro 64 bit and there starting "credential manager" I get the error "failure in credential manager code 0x80070057". I chatted with Microsoft support and was given the explanation "this error is the result of using CCleaner" and I should reset windows completely. Are there any ideas fixing the problem? It is right that I am using CCleaner, but I never used the registry cleaner module.
Moderators hazelnut Posted April 1, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 1, 2016 This seems to be a problem for quite a few people if you look in a Google search so may not be caused by Ccleaner. Have you tried this? http://superuser.com/questions/1008997/web-credentials-showing-error-0x80070057-the-parameter-is-incorrect Please note...Doing so will erase all login credentials for all apps for your user account! That is all usernames and passwords, including those inside Google Chrome. balloon66
Thank you very much for answering. But the solution does not work. There are no files in the mentioned folder, although show hidden files is enabled. I have too PC. Same result on the other machine (no files in the folder), but on this machine the credential manager Is working fine. More ideas?
Moderators hazelnut Posted April 2, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 2, 2016 If you have tried all the many solutions offered on Google, then perhaps a refresh of your system may be the only option Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
balloon66
Problem solved! In http://superuser.com...er-is-incorrect it is important to deactivate in the explorer options "Hide protected operating system files". Everything is working fine now. Hazelnut, thank you very much for your help. You did a great job!!! Best regards, Uwe
