torteusz
I consider that Recuva is a good program easy to use and pleasant interface, but I lack one thing recovery dates (modification, creation, last access) for directories - I think it would be very useful. Regards.
Moderators Augeas Posted September 2, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2015 Recuva doesn't recover directories, as they are a component of the MFT and cannot be 'recovered' in any sense of the word. Recuva will recreate directories if you have the Restore Directory Structure box checked, but they will have the creation date of the recovery. Directories do not keep (or do not display in File Explorer) the modification or last access date.
torteusz
Explorer does not display, but file managers yes (Total Commander or Free Commander), and yet in the MFT is stored timestamp for folders - and since it is in the MFT is Recuva will be able to get it back, just you need to implement it. Btw... if we relied only on what could Explorer is Recuva and other programs would not exist, because Explorer can not do that.
Moderators Augeas Posted September 2, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2015 Recuva does not display directories as separate entities nor does it recover them, so I'm not sure where that info would be displayed. I can't remember this info ever being in demand for recovery purposes.
