toolonginexile
Hello- used CCcleaner for years. Tried it recently on a new cpu after downloading directly from Piriform. However, after every scan chrome automatically gets changed to use the V9 search engine as a a default and v9 as a home page. Ive removed and changed v9 manually so this only happens after a cccleaner run. Is this malware, is there anyway to get rid of this. It ruins an otherwise great product....thanks

Moderators mta Posted June 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 19, 2015 V9 is a browser hijacker - so Yes, it's malware. http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-v9-search-virus/ you need to do as @Andavari suggests and get your PC scanned. eL_PuSHeR
Try running AdwCleaner or ZHPCleaner. Refer to the parent forum for links and such.
