The Wrong Temperature Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Perhaps windows 10 is guilty of an incorrect display of the temperature of the board? it seems like it was not like that before ...

Thank you for this forum.

I was horrified to see that I was getting a 'Motherboard' reading of 116C

Win 10 64 bit

Manufacturer    ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
Model    H97M-E (SOCKET 1150)
Version    Rev X.0x
System Temperature    116 °C
    BIOS
        Brand    American Megatrends Inc.
        Version    2404
        Date    15-May-15

No problems with the computer though and the CPU is functioning normally

g'day @SashaPro, welcome to the forums.

agreed, which is why you can dismiss it straight away.
if there was an award, I think you have the highest so far, so Congrats!  :)

Good afternoon. Believe me, I only dream about not catching fire. The accursed number, somewhere was deposited in my memory and is there. (Thank God, BIOS calms - 36C, as a healthy person )).

Win 10 Professional and the BIOS are up to date

Manufacturer ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.

Model H110M-K

Version Rev X.0x

BIOS Version 3405

As you can see by the pictures, Speccy shows me that the motherboard is over 120°C, but Ai Suite show that the motherboard has 25°C. I don't know which reading to trust.

I would say it's almost 100% certain that it's the Speccy reading that's wrong!

122°C on a motherboard would be very much a cause for concern if it were correct!

So the bad mobo temp bug is back again, with Speccy v1.31.732 64-bit.

Edit: Looking at previous posts, has this bug really had reports since Christmas? Are you all on holiday? ;)

I have just about given up on Speccy ever fixing the temperature readings. It's never been correct on any of my PC's, so as much as I love CCleaner, I've given up on Speccy...

I had to sign up to just to post this, like wow talk about inaccurate readings... I'm pretty sure if this was the case of my CPU being this hot I wouldn't be typing this right now...In other applications its around 33-44C.

Asus h87m-e with 1150 socket. i-5 4670. Speccy says 1150 socket is 116 degrees.

Bios says 27 degrees.

Replaced both mobo and cpu  with exact models recently and Speccy still shows 116 degrees.

Every other software that shows system temps is correct except Speccy. Uninstalled.

Thank you all for your continued reports.  I have been assured that this thread is followed by developers/admins.

thread started Feb 2015.
not one Admin response or acknowledgement.
5 releases of Speccy since this thread started.
users still reporting problems.

please!, somebody tell me that Piriform/Avast cares.

I see no reason why this thread should not be closed as it is seemingly serving no purpose.

I think it's more of a case of each and every report being a different bug.  I was told by admin to create this thread to reign in multiple threads reporting the issue on their Motherboard.

I'd love to talk this out not in front of members ;) but shutting this thread would be a very bad idea.

after three and a half years of collecting user's reports, I think they should have a good enough pool of data to work from.

only one conclusion to be drawn - don't solely trust anything Speccy reports.
