Spiff
Not sure its a bug. [...] On this xp computer I can get rid of the tray icon only by turning monitoring off with 3 clicks in a certain order: 1st untick options > monitoring > enable system monitoring 2nd untick options > advanced > enable active monitoring 3rd accept the popup warning, thus reassuring CCleaner that you really want to do this. After updating to CCleaner 4.18 I found out the same. This works fine for me. Edit: Sorry, don't know what would happen to that tray icon on restart, this computer will lose these experimental changes on restart..What did you mean? Is that something related to your computer system, or specificly related to CCleaner 4.18? On my system (Vista SP2) the CCleaner settings are not lost with rebooting the system. I think it might be helpful if others would try the same, and would report after rebooting. Thanks.
TheAslan
I don't have any of these bugs, tested versions 4.18.4842 and 4.18.4844. (Portable builds on Windows 7)

This works fine for me too! And after a reboot monitoring is still disabled. (Tested on 3 PCs.)
TheAslan
Forgot to mention that I only had to uncheck "Enable active monitoring" and it automatically unchecked all the other boxes and also hid the CCleaner tray icon succesfully.
Admin MrA Posted September 26, 2014 Admin Share Posted September 26, 2014 Hi, You can now download v4.18.4844. This version allows for easier control of the new Active Monitoring feature. Active Monitoring can be disabled by: 1. Open CCleaner, then click Options > Monitoring 2. Disable System Monitoring by unticking the box next to "Enable System Monitoring" 3. Disable Active Monitoring by unticking the box next to "Enable Active Monitoring", and click Yes when the confirmation box appears

What I meant was that some folks had reported that the tray icon reappears after a restart, and I can't test that on this computer. This computer is fixed up so that nothing I install will be there after a restart. When I posted that I had about 5 versions of CCleaner installed, trying to find out what was happening. But, It is now apparently fixed anyway. Kudos to the Piri team, 3 revisions in about a day to fix a non fatal bug in a free software. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.
