tampa47
CCleaner drive wiper always wipes MFT free space whether or not the "wipe MFT free space" option has a check mark. I'm using v4.16.4763 (64-bit) on Windows 7 Home Premium wiping my "C:" drive free space. I would like to turn off wipe MFT free space by removing the check mark because it adds many hours to the wipe process. Please advise. Thanks! Moderators Augeas Posted July 24, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 24, 2014 The Wipe MFT checkbox in Options/Settings is separate from and does not influence Drive Wiper. Drive wiper does a wipe MFT by default, as you have discovered. If you want to wipe drives without wiping the MFT then use WFS from Options/Settings, along with checking Cleaner/Advanced/Wipe Free Space. I'm surprised that wipe MFT takes so long, but it is not a function that I run so I have no experience of timings.
