maybe no-one understands the question.

what address bar history is not being cleaned; browser, file explorer etc ?

your arrow points to "executions (in the start menu)", do you mean that one in particular?

hi, "mta" thanks for reply...

mmm....

i think the first screen show EXACTLY what "history" not being cleaned.

and for the second, about the arrow, ok, yes, it point to "executions", but that was NOT my intention, instead my intention was point to all "ccleaner options" for "windows explorer".

i think, is supposed all of you has to know what mean that options, right? is your software, right?

im just a user, if i had the knowledge of how your program work, i could solve the problem by myself, right?

anyway, if you forget about the second screen, i think the first is all you need for know what is the problem, that screen shows only a "folder".

what other kind of window should be that screen? firefox? IE?.... ¿?

or, really, really, that mistake for the arrow in the screen, is the reason for nobody could solve my problem? really?

in case you aren't aware, this is simply a community forum about Piriform products.

all members are volunteers and in no way work for, or have any inside knowledge of Piriform or their products.

the Development Team do read these threads and use them as a 'sounding board' and chime in occasionally when more information is needed.

so if you find your problem hasn't been answered yet, it just means the right person with the right knowledge has yet to log on and see your thread.

then of course, they have to understand your thread :).

which is where I'm getting lost in.

if the first screen shows exactly your problem, then please call me stupid but all I am seeing is your Local Disk (D:\) with a big grey box covering your data and two red arrows that indicate you have a lot of files to scroll through.  from that I can't tell what you are trying to clean.

that section in CC, covering Windows Explorer will only clean; Recent Docs, Run (in start menu), Explorer MRU's, Thumbnail cache, Taskbar jump lists and Network Passwords.

what of those is in your first screenshot?

Backup now & backup often.

you understand correctly the problem. that is exactly my problem. i need clean all that entries, you clearly see is a lot of entries. and if you don't know what "option" in ccleaner should be clean my history,  i less.

oooooooohhhh......

I thought this was the "Developers or Creators Forum".

is a domain from "Piriform" and is called "Bug Reporting", so, i am the stupid. jajaja :)

well. no problem. thanks for you help.

now understand i have to search help in other forums.

anyway thanks and have a good day.

OK, I'll take a swing.

- What happens when you try to clean them?

- Did you shut down any processes that might be using them before running CCleaner?  For example your internet browser, Process monitor, etc.

- Are the objects to be cleaned located in a virtual machine?

The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-)

hi friends.... thanks for reply.....

Is XP installed on drive D?

not, xp is in C: and there is no anymore OS in the hard disk.

the screen i take show a partition D, but that doesn't important.

i could take the same screen in any other folder or window of the explorer.

when i tried to clean? in what way i have to clean that entries?

**when i run the clean from "ccleaner", all history of all the others options be clean (recent documents, executions in start menu, history of firefox, etc...), all except that entries.

**there is no way i clean that entries, i tried without any other process, without any other software running, even in "safe mode", i uninstall and reinstall ccleaner.

**of course the entries are in the OS where the "ccleaner" has be installed. that is too obvious. forget about "Virtual PC".

like i say, "Ccleaner" not clean that entries no matter how i use it.

and for you know, the pc is fully clean of virus, malware and spyware, i spend hours cleaning just to be sure.

just to be sure.

do you know how that entries appear??

just open a folder, any folder, in any OS, and try to write anything, then the autocomplete of windows show all the previous history.

is jus the " Windows Explorer AutoComplete "

but i dont know how to clean that history.

1.   Have you considered going into your Control Panel then....

Internet Options

Advanced tab

Untick..''Use inline autocomplete (outside of Internet Explorer)''

Then you won't get those entries in your Windows Explorer address bar anymore. (does not affect Internet Explorer)

2.  Please turn off all your tickboxes under Advanced (Avanzada) in CCleaner. You are cleaning all the settings you are trying to change.

3.  Why do you have the options under Internet Explorer unticked?

1.- that option always i have untick, and i think ccleaner should clean the history even with that option marked. ccleaner should clean the history in windows and internet explorer.

or is a option for the paid version?

2.- what do you mean?? in that i lost.

3.- that options unmarked is just a convenience, but the history NOT cleared even if mark that options.

thanks.

Under Avanzada in CCleaner, you have cache de tamano/ubicacion ticked. Please UNTICK ALL the options under Avanzada for now.

Please TICK the options under Internet Explorer (not autocomplte and saved passwords)

There is no difference in ccleaning with the paid version.

Under System tick Windows Log Files (archivos de registo....)

Make sure under CCleaner..Options..Advanced that ''only delete files in Windows Temp older than 24 hours'' is unticked.

Do not clean machine when you are online on the internet :)

Here is what I have done to duplicate your situation, using Win xp, sp3.

installed the latest version of CCleaner free, installed the latest stable version of Firefox (ver 31).

Checked the same boxes as you on the Windows tab.

Checked the boxes shown in the Programas tab.

CCleaner said I must turn off Firefox, and I did.

The screenshot below shows that  Firefox was skipped but it was not.

Ran the program, Ejecutar El Impiador, then ran the Anaiizar again.  Result was a clean analysis, meaning no files there to clean.

The only thing I can think of is to be sure your browser is not running.

Use the task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) to make sure there are no browser processes running.

The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-)

Short Answer

If you check off "recently typed urls" in the "internet explorer" section this is solved.

respuesta corta:

Si marca off "URLs recientemente escritas" en ccleaner para la sección de "Internet Explorer" esto se soluciona.

Longer Answer

I believe, Login, you have mistranslated the issue here.  This thread is not caused by browsers nor is it about the history from any browser; however it is solved via a browser section of ccleaner.

The OP is having an issue with the History displayed in the File Explorer.  This history is actually stored in the same place as your IE browsers typed URLS, most likely to make indexing easier.

The OP has unchecked a default CCLeaner setting "Recently Typed URLs" here is said settings rule (achieved via ccleaner's /export command line switch)

[Recently Typed URLs]
ID=1004
LangSecRef=3001
LangRef=3104
Detect=HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
Default=True
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
RegKey2=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer Bars\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}\FilesNamedMRU
RegKey3=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer Bars\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}\ContainingTextMRU

as can be seen RegKey1 is exactly the key that is pointed to in an earlier post.

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Nawww, I didn't mistranslate it.

I just used the language dll in CCleaner to match up with what radamantis2707 was doing.

I didn't understand it at all, in either language.  :lol:

However, what I posted worked here (afaik), got rid of the stuff.  Will be interested to see if it works there.

On the same subject, will CCleaner delete that Firefox stuff if Firefox is active?
