Celeron J1900 shown as J1850

Recommended Posts

My CPU, which is a Celeron J1900, is shown in Speccy as a Celeron J1850.

See attached screenshot. On the Summary page it also incorrectly shows J1850.

Also, there are other inaccuracies, e.g.:

1. The socket is wrong. This CPU actually uses a BGA 1170 socket.

2. It says this CPU supports Hyperthreading, which it does not.

For comparison, see what AIDA64 shows for this system's CPU:

I wonder if anyone at Piriform even reads these forum threads, and whether there's even any point reporting bugs. This wasn't a request for technical support, it was a bug report.

On a separate note, the memory timings reported by Speccy for this system don't match with reality either, so I guess it just means Speccy can't be trusted for accurate information. Better to use HWiNFO64, CPU-Z, AIDA64, etc., which do show accurate information.

Yes the developers read and work on all threads, though rarely ever post replies unless more information is needed.

Just like Speccy is not 100% correct on 100% of PC's, my guess is that those other programs would have the same limitation.

We all have to use whatever works for us.
