Vagrin
I'm not sure if this is a bug or something else on my system causing the problem. Tonight I ran CCleaner version 1.26.218 and below is a report from my Nortons Firewall: Outbound UDP packet. Local address, service is (My Full Computer Name(192.168.0.2),0). Remote address, service is (My ISP DNS IP address,domain(53)). Process name is ""C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe""." Nortons recommendation: Block access... Any ideas as to why Nortons Firewall would recommend blocking access?
Moderators Andavari Posted January 25, 2006 Moderators Share Posted January 25, 2006 Any ideas as to why Nortons Firewall would recommend blocking access? Because it's retarded! If it's a configurable firewall you could create an allowed application rule that will permit CCleaner to check for updates.
Eldmannen
When CCleaner starts it checks if there are any updates. If you do not like this, you can disable it in "Options" -> "Settings", and click the checkbox "Automatically check for updates to CCleaner".
