michaelsmith664
Is it possible to check when your USB stick was plugged into a computer and to see what time. I don't really want to download software to check it, but I read somewhere event viewer can tell me, is this true?
Moderators Andavari Posted April 14, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 14, 2013 On an OS newer than XP perhaps you have such luxury? On XP it doesn't give any obvious clue when it was last used - other than if you copied files to or changed files on the USB thumb drive then those are logged as part of the files themselves via the date/time stamp. Moderators mta Posted April 14, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 14, 2013 it's definitely not recorded in Event Viewer for Win 7 or 8. Majestic
There is no USB history listing in the OS that I am aware of. What I would suggest is downloading and installing BelArc Advisor, it's free. Not only does BelArc give you a detailed listing of your computer hardware and software, but it also includes a 30 day USB history that details the date, time and what devices were plugged in. Edited April 14, 2013 by Nergal link removed users can google it
