Flats
Hi, I love Defraggler and have been using it for years, but I can't get it to do anything with my 4TB USB3 Hitachi Touro Pro drive. Analyzing the drive results in the error "Analysis Failed" and attempting to defrag it results in "Building File List Failed" Windows own defrag tool doesn't work on it either I've been hoping with each update that it might eventually work, but no luck so far. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how I could get it sorted. Thanks a lot.
eL_PuSHeR
This is a known issue for bigger drives (1,5TB+). You will have to wait for a future release.
Moderators Nergal Posted January 17, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2013 el_pusher since you've experienced this, does it help to make smaller (250/500 GB) partitions or it it the size of the drive? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. eL_PuSHeR
I think someone reported that making smaller partitons didn't help but I am not 100% sure.
Alan_B
Could there be a problem with USB3 drivers ? It might be worth trying to use a USB2 port. USB2 Port connection has definitely been a solution for "Partition image Restore" of backups that were created via USB3 when the Boot CD's lacked the appropriate USB3 drivers. It just occurs to me that your USB3 drivers are obviously fit for writing and reading files, but maybe they are not up to the demands of defragging.
