MalwareBytes Anti-Malware - new release

I doubt to infinity that their cleanup tool would've made any difference and wouldn't have prevented the DLL runtime errors I started getting after rebooting. It messed up some DLL file that Windows needed. Also I uninstalled it normally, rebooted, and then used my Total Uninstall log to fully remove all leftovers.

Same here Hazelnut. It's another of those software titles I'm just glad I didn't buy a license to actually.

On my system the 'Full Scan' time increased from 45 minutes which was acceptable, to 3 1/2 hours non-acceptable since it's just an anti-malware and doesn't include any anti-virus engines that I know of, etc., like Emsisoft Anti-Malware does.

Depending upon what they do 1.75 could be the last version of it I use if they stop feeding it signature files.

Edit:

I wonder if they'd ever consider keeping 1.75 active with signature file updates, and just rename it to something like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Classic.

People who use Malwarebytes should definitely read this

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=145758

This version 2 is in response to complaints about it already.

Then there will be yet another update patch soon

In about 2-3 weeks we're going to release yet another patch that will fix about ~30 bugs that have been reported or we've discovered. We wanted to make sure the UI issues were addressed first since we had some really great feedback from everyone.

Here is my feedback on the matter v1.75 vs 2.xxxx

v1.75 scan process was a lot faster than this new version due to this pre-scan that they introduces in v2.
I would like a option to hide the "MB Secure Backup" ad or removed it.
Personally I do not want to be reminded that I am using the free version on the Dashboard every time I open it.
For some reason v2.0.3.1025 can not sort via Type within the History--> Quarantine on my system.

But the new version isn't totally that bad they have included some functionality  that I do like seeing I work with a lot of and I do mean a lot of infected files at the same time.

One can get use to the UI.
But the main "likes" are  for me are

First, If one opens the Application Logs and open a scan log, the way the inforamtion is presented is clean cut, although they could add headers for each section but it's still understandable without them.

Second, The fact that I now can restore multiple SELECTED quarantine files. The function of selecting multiple quarantine files and restore them is not available within v1.75.

The thing is with every new application being developed and release there will be bug, sometimes more then anticipated, but it will be work out eventually and every one will look back and say "I could not believe we used to use that old software without this functionality"

may I ask the reasoning for your question?

is it anything to do with your 'IsLicensed, 13' error that is in your logs?

I just put it down to the Free version getting it knickers in a knot and checking if it was the Premium version.

Should be a good fit, but I would have thought MBAM covered most of JRT areas anyway.

Maybe it's not so much 'strengthening our technologies' and a little bit of 'remove the competition'.

But it would at least make for a one-stop-shop MBAM detection/removal tool, which I already consider without equal.

Maybe JRT did something that MBAM never could (successful) achieve and so dealing a double blow 'strengthening our technologies' and 'remove the competition'.

One of the issues with JRT is that you don't get to see beforehand what it is deleting, you only see in the log afterwards.. Hopefully MBAM will alter that.

Not a tool to just try out to see what it does.  Has been know to take out the odd driver.
