mikesw
When one repairs their network connection, it clears the NetBT, DNS cache and ARP. Make it an option to clean these using ccleaner on shutdown. Recently it was posted on other websites that elcomsoft(?) has a tool now that can recover the encryption keys from Truecyrpt by scanning the Virtural drive caches that Windows saves to disk since the encryption keys are stored in memory and are swapped to disk occasionally, and when one goes into hibernate or shtudown, memory is dumped to this windows virtual drive caches and the keys can be recovered from it. Thus, need ccleaner to clean all the virtual disk caches on hibernate or shutdown to destory the contents of this file using multiple pass overwrites to eliminate this problem. Moderators hazelnut Posted December 27, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2012 Just do a full shutdown cold boot. No info saved then or better still just turn off hibernation. CCleaner is typically a junk cleaner. Encrypted key info and things along that line are not really in what we should expect CCleaner to clean. Robert Giuffre
I've created a batch file to delete the arp cache, flush the dns and run CCleaner, but it would be nice to add the arpcache delete to CCleaner: arp -d netsh interface ip delete arpcache ipconfig /flushdns "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe" /AUTO The batch file needs Admin/UAC rights, but it works perfectly.
