URGENT URGENT URGENT URGENT URGENT

_____________________________________________________

Hello, I have been using Defraggler for a number of years without any problems at all.

It been running on the same EXACT SAME pc... using the EXACT SAME os, with the EXACT SAME config.... N O T H I N G whatsoever has changed since i started using this software upto today.

I use this software at least 4 or 5 times a month, and it dose its job, and ALWAYS defrags to 0%.

Today I wake up and run it... it completes, and shows me 17% defragged hard drive

OK.. now what the hell is it doing this for, what has changed since the last time i used this and today.

I have done nothing to my system, I have not got any virueses..etc.. so why dose this software SUDDENLY decide that on 20 December 2012 it wont degrag 17% of the harddrive.

Why for example did it not do this, last month, or the month before.. or even last year.. or when i first started using it. What makes today "20 December 2012" so different that it struggles to do what its

being doing fine for years.

01.jpg

I run it AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN... 20+ TIMES....

Still the same crap.... I reboot my pc AGAIN, AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND RUN THE DEFRAGGLER AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN... STILL THE SAME CRAP"!!!!

I mouse over on parts of the red boxes, and it tells me its system volume information

I do research and see that its related to system restore points... Thats odd, because I DO NOT USE this windows feature, nor have I EVER USED this feature. So why dose defraggler show me this????

I keep researching and see people recommend using Auslogics Disk Defrag to defrag this bulls**t system volume information stuff..

so i go to the website, download and install it the bloody thing. I analyses the same drive as Im having trouble with in defraggler, and this is the bulls**t it shows me:

85.jpg

right so... now what the hell is going on here??????

this stupid thing shows me 1%???? which is right. this software or defraggler???? I am so dam confused... i dont know what the hell is happening here.

So now im put in the position that i dont know what to believe, either my hd is 17% fragmented or not.. either my pc has system volume information or not..... ??!?!?

Anyway.. at this point im starting to really loose my patients with this.

I go to the defraggler website and download the latest version.

I Uninstall the old one and install the new one.

I analyses the same drive as before, and now Defraggler shows me not 17% but now its 19%????

WTF????? WTF???? WHAT THE HELL IS THIS????

WHAT IS GOING ON??

I AM SO ANGRY!! I AM LIVID... MY ANGER AT THIS POINT HAS GONE BEYOND SOMETHING I CAN TAKE NOW!!

I know now that if i cant get rid of this bulls**t 19%,, next month it might be 25%,, then next 50% and before I know ill have a harddrive with 99% fragmented files that i am unable to do anything about. so i will need to buy a new harddrive. I NEED TO tackle this problem NOW... NOW NOW NOW.. before it gets to bad ill need to buy a new harddrive.

Can someone please for the love of whatever you hold dear help me!!!!

please tell me why , oh why, why why why why.. did defraggler SUDDENLY pick today,to stop working properly..

and why dose installing other de-fraggers show me something COMPLETELY different???

how do i get rid of this "system volume information" from my pc (even tho i have system restore OFF)?

why is system volume data being created when I have system restore off.

why is this happening today, and not last week, last months, last year??? like why today?? I am most concerned about this aspect of my issue, the fact that it suddenly happened today.. why? i have done nothing, no system changes, no viruses, no malware.. nothing..

In other words, since the last time i used deffraggler NOTHING on my system has changed, in fact since the last time i used it i hardly used the pc,. so why? why today of all days is it different. after using it for so many years? arr i dont understand what has changed from last time i used to now...

I could understand if this happened tomorrow (21st) being the end of the world and all that crap, perhaps the dev team put in an in joke where the software acts funny on that day. (for a joke).. but that is not the case here, its 20th december, and its not the end of the world,. so please someone explain WHY defraggler decided by itself last night while i was sleeping to suddenly not work the way it was from 20th of december on ward/

sorry for my frustration. and attitude, and spelling and grammar, but im at the end of my tether here, and i need some answers and solutions before this gets so bad I need to buy a new harddrive that i simply cant afford right now.

can someone please help me

regards &

seasons greets

You really need to calm down and stop shouting.

I presume you have excluded system volume information from your defrag.

You don't seem to think it important to say what operating system you are using... but it is very important.

In your other thread about this (which I have locked) you ask for immediate assistance from Piriform and demand their contact details.

http://www.piriform.com/contact

and

Support from Piriform is only available if you have paid for the product which I presume you did.

thankyou for the reply, and once again im sorry for my attitude, im staring a completely messed up hd in the face here and its looking more and more like i wont be able to fix this, coupled with the fact that i cant afford a new hd and only have one pc and its xmas time.. im really really so frustrated.

anyway, i am bringing this pc up to my cuz... after another test annalyalise with defraggler, its now at 62% fragmented

Perhaps i do have some sort of virus.. anyway, ill pop my pc up to my cuz, hes good at resolving issues.

I dont want to use this pc anymore. for fear of what is happening, perhaps its nothing at all to do with defraggler, in which case i do apologies in advance.

sorry for my anger again

happy xmas and stuff

if i get the pc back with still the same issue I shall seek help here again (but this time in a far more calmer manner)

thanks again

regards

You said

related to system restore points... Thats odd, because I DO NOT USE this windows feature

Perhaps that is no longer true due to a Windows Update or some other external influence/malware.

I have a miniscule 3.6 MB in my System Volume Information because I too have Restore Points Disabled.

I have to use the Portable Treesize Free to show how my space is Disk space used.

That shows me not only the size of System Volume Information, it also shows me the names of the files it contains and the largest file is syscache.hve

Defraggle "Search" does NOT find folder names, but I can search for syscache.hve and when I select that file a single cell is highlighted,

and when I click on that cell it highlights only one cell.in the drive map.

When I click on that cell then a "Highted" TAB opens and I see this file is accompanied by perhaps 1000 other files in this same cell

You appear to have a large number of cells occupied by System Volume Information.

This suggests that the folder is in use now even though it was not previously in use.

Restore Points are one possibility.

I believe VSS Snapshots are another possibility.

I suggest you download Treesize Free and check whether there is new stuff being placed in System Volume Information.

N.B.

I keep 372 GB of backup files in a total space of 466 GB on E:\

It is 56% fragmented and its health is GOOD.

Even at 100% fragmented I would not worry so long as Health was GOOD.

I never bother to defrag it because it is far less of a time waste if I tolerate an extra tenth of a second when occasionally reading a backup file

Your 62% fragmentation does NOT indicate that you should expect disc failure.

62% fragmentation might marginally slow your computer,

BUT NOT if it is the contents of System Volume Information - that is almost always write-only.

If you need further advice you should specify what version of Windows and Service Packs, and also 64 or 32 bit,

PLEASE THIS ISSUE HAS NOW TURNED URGENT!!

A fragged drive is not urgent or serious. At the most it may slow performance by a miniscule amount -- milliseconds. From reading your map I see no chance of speed loss. :)

After defragging I always have zero fragged files cos I

1. installed Fixit 50463

2. ticked all these boxes

3. run only a file defrag.

Excessive defragging is counterproductive. You'll be spending more time defragging than saved, and it will soon fragment again.

sorry for my frustration. and attitude, and spelling and grammar,

Apart from that, your posts were fine. post-8751-0-13611700-1356053727.gif

Take notice of hazel and Kroozer. They both have a knack of calming the most frustrated and worried of members.

This is Christmas. You don't want to be stressing yourself like that at this time of the year.

(Sorry Alan, you can't compete with those two in the calming stakes.)
