TRinAz
Looked in the on-line documentation but there's nothing listed for the latest addition to "options"....what exactly does "Stop VSS when defragging NTFS volume" due? and, also on the Win 7 Pro 64bit machine...the option to "Enable Shell Extensions" is also grayed out...can I get this option working in Win 7 Pro 64bit ? Thanks....TiminAz
kroozer
Stop VSS prevents Windows from expanding the VSS (Volume Shadow Service Restore Points) during a full partition defrag. If VSS expands you would lose some free space and possibly increase fragmentation. My shell option is also greyed. Win7 x64 and Vista x86.
Moderators DennisD Posted December 6, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 6, 2012 I'm talking Win XP here, so dunno if this would in any way be similar in your OS's, but using the "Save all settings to INI file" option greys out "Shell Extensions". Nice hat K. Reminds me to search out my festive avatar.

rickmastfan67
and, also on the Win 7 Pro 64bit machine...the option to "Enable Shell Extensions" is also grayed out...can I get this option working in Win 7 Pro 64bit ? You need to have the "Save all settings to INI file" unclicked. If you don't, the Shell Extenstions section will remain grayed out. (W7 x64 here as well)
