mef1975
Good day to you all... Windows XP. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ccleaner. I have tried putting it on Normal File Deletion, as opposed to Secure File Deletion. I have all the Applications options checked on. I found a hint to the solution when I started toggling the Windows options... In order to get it to work all the way to 100%, I had to uncheck the following Windows options... IE: Last Download Location Autocomplete Form History Saved Passwords Windows Explorer: Search Autocomplete Other Explorer MRUs Network Passwords System: DNS Cache Font Cache Start Menu Shortcuts Desktop Shortcuts Advanced: All options must remain unchecked for Ccleaner to run the full 100% So, what's the deal? This is only happening on one of my XP computers. The others seem fine.
Super Fast
Many things could cause this: What is your XP machine like that you are running it on? Specs wise? IE: Single or dual core CPU & rated clock speed/RAM installed. - Do you know if you have any rootkits or malware on the machine? - Is it slow running other things? - Have you defragged it lately? - How many startup items do you have? - What version(s) of CCleaner have you tried? - Does it still do it in Safe Mode, or with a different CCleaner version, or with a portable CCleaner version? - Do your case/CPU/GPU/power supply fans have dust on them, causing overheating?
