35lennoxt
Hi there, I've only got a basic computer knowledge compared to other forum users from what I can see, so perhaps this is a stupid question! But ... Defraggler's analysis says I have the following: 48,399 fragmented files (11.5GB) 169,212 total fragments 4% fragmentation I've got a 300GB HD, 2.2Ghz T4400 processor and 4GB RAM. I've had it running for a day and it's still going and not making much progress. Having looked at old threads re slow defrag time I disabled system restore and unchecked the Move large files option. But it's still suggesting > 1 day defrag. Vast majority are small files, maybe 20 > 100Mb-1GB, though a fair few smaller files have hundreds of fragments. just selecting those under 50MB doesn't seem to make a difference. As I've only defragged once in last two years (yes, I know) should I just accept that it's a huge job first time round? If anyone can help clarify my situation that would be great, Thanks! kroozer
Some of us speed the process by defragging only the files, not the entire partition. Try this.
