Error Message since 3.17

Recommended Posts

After updating to 3.17, I have started getting a "bad allocation" error message when I run CCleaner:

I have never gotten an error message before from CCleaner. What does this mean?

Can you try an earlier version & see if it still says the same thing?

Just to be sure this isn't a problem that just started & eliminate the possibility that it is Windows or Hardware failing?

Filehippo has earlier versions. If you would, try the version you were using earlier, then retry the 3.17.

On my 32 Bit 7, 3.17 works fine. Are you on XP/Vista/7, & the 32 or 64 bit version?

Do you have anything running in the background while trying to use ccleaner?

Does it happen if you run ccleaner in safe mode?

At what stage do you get the 'bad allocation' message

Do you use WinApp2.ini or CCEnhancer?

Can you give us some details such as operating system, service pack etc.

please uncheck everything in the windows and applications tab

one by one (check one test it uncheck it) run the action (clean or Analyze) that causes the error, do this for every entry you normally clean. report back with which entry(S) cause you issue.

You say when you run ccleaner.

what does this mean? When you start the program? when you analyze? when you clean? when you use the registry section? when you use one of the tools?

Are you trying to clean Chrome, Safari or Firefox/Thunderbird/Songbird with the apps still open, or running in the background
