Mozilla have given up a hopelesss battle against superior competitors for an unwanted and failing metro experience. That is my interpretation of we have to pick our battles. Luckily the extension Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) can very easily make it look like v28! That extension also instantly fixed/repaired the "Exit Customize" button since it was initially broken and didn't work which was forcing a full exit and restart of Firefox in order to get the new and broken in my case "Customize" display to exit. Thankfully I kept a screenshot of exactly how I have everything layed out! That screenshot allowed me to fully fix their annoying goofing around and moving around of how I had things. Winapp2.ini Posted April 30, 2014 Share Posted April 30, 2014 The interface redesign (Australis) is largely unpopular due to looking like Chrome, though I personally like it. They removed some stuff, but I think the major purpose behind it was to streamline the code powering a decade old code structure behind the UI, and reduce jank as a result. Also to bring the desktop UI in line with the mobile one a la windows 8. Shorlander tweeted me a few months ago that the dark UI I posted a few pages back was slated to be in the works after Australis P1 lands, so that should be up and coming within the next few versions maybe (I'll let you know if anything hits mozilla central, which I use as my daily driver) There was a mockup for a dark australis theme set to become the private mode theme, but I really really really hope it becomes an anytime option because it looks really nice. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I installed them without realizing there was such a radical change, and what a sinking feeling I had when I first looked at it. At least it does not cover over the desktop's taskbar the way Chrome does, that is one of the features I really dislike about Chrome. Start every day with a smile and get it over with. - W.C. My firefox does, but because I have the windows border density set to 1px and the taskbar disabled in my second and third monitors, and move my windows between monitors with SHIFT+Win. That extension I mentioned is suppose to fix some things. ------------- What's the next big change; square or triangle wheels for cars.
