Moderators hazelnut Posted November 14, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 14, 2011 Many of you will remember this once 'must have ' app. If this article's facts are right looks like it may be end game, at the very least I'd never recommend it to anyone. http://www.majorgeek...ry.php?id=31632 Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com

Alan_B
It was on the Laptop when my daughter passed it on to me. It never found anything worse than tracking cookies. Then they updated but I found this forced zombie services that I could kill, and a few minutes later they would resurrect and steal CPU cycles again. I reverted to the previous version but after a while they discontinued the data-base updates for what had never found anything bad, so I decided my 30 GB HDD was to precious to waste on bloated junk and I zapped it. Never regretted that decision.
nodles
I used it many years ago (when it was still good and free) and would never recommend it now. Well, I would recommend avoiding it. SpyBot & MBAM are much better. I do recommend SUPERAntiSpyware sometimes, but I remember it leaving some "components" after uninstalling it, so haven't tested it on my own PC in a while. Willy2
The last free version of AdAware I used was a nightmare. Took too much CPU time and slowed all other programs down in the say first 5 minutes after a start up.
