bibido
Hi, I'm using the latest Speccy (v1.13). I didn't check with the previous version, but Total Physical in RAM sector displays only "MB", not the real size (1 GB actually). Here is the full RAM information. Moderators Nergal Posted October 21, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 21, 2011 1024 MBytes is 1 GB so Speccy is not incorrect ;-) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. bibido
Yes, you're right :-) My problem remains though: no value in "Total Physical". I'm now trying Speccy in another computer (desktop), and it 'works' correctly.
Moderators Nergal Posted October 21, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 21, 2011 OH lol I missread you don't mean it only shows the size in MB you're referring to line three Physical Memory Memory Usage 46 % Total Physical MB Available Physical 542 MB Total Virtual 2.40 GB Available Virtual 1.92 GB that is odd, i agree. what operating system version and service pack level intel or AMD? 32 or 64bit (though with 1gb I assume 32) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. bibido
This is on Windows XP Media Center Edition Professional 32-bit SP3, Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5200, a recently old laptop. I tried previous Speccy versions, and I can say that the last working one that detects the Total Physical is v1.10 (as 0.99 Go). Surprisingly, v1.11 introduced "Fixed bug in RAM calculation" which seems to have affected my system.
Moderators Nergal Posted October 22, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 22, 2011 Thanks for following up. The developers read, though rarely comment on, every thread. They may ask you for more information if they are unable to recreate the problem in their lab. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. bibido
This bug still exists in today's Speccy, v1.14. I can confirm it on at least one other netbook I have access to, Asus Eee PC 1005.
bibido
I would like to elaborate more on this. A few days back I upgraded my memory to 2 GB (added another 1 GB). Both memory slots are now occupied. Using the latest v1.15 Speccy correctly identifies the Total Physical. So, in one way the problem I had is fixed. But it still persists on the Asus Eee PC 1105 (see above post).
