Indiana Jones (not)
My AVG 2012 Utility is not listed in CCleaner v3.11.1541 whereas it was listed and cleaned prior to update to latest version of CC. Malwarebytes is still listed under Utilities but where has AVG listing gone? Tried uninstall CC and then reinstall but no AVG listing under Applications. Guest TexShane
Try pressing F5, to refresh CCleaner's listing of programs (on the cleaner tab)
Indiana Jones (not)
Thanks 4 reply TexShane but F5 did not bring AVG back so its still not listed for cleaning. Other ideas appreciated
Moderators Nergal Posted October 3, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 3, 2011 Not sure why texShane thought that F5 would do anything but What was the last version of ccleaner that AVG 2012 showed up in (if any) that latest AVG covered by CCleaner seems to be AVG 10.x (I even rolled ccleaner back a few to see if it had been removed) is 2012's version AVG 12.x? here is the previously supported cleans for AVG [Grisoft AVG 7.0] ID=2128 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Grisoft\Avg7 Default=True FileKey1=%commonappdata%\Grisoft\Avg7Data|*.log FileKey2=%commonappdata%\Grisoft\Avg7Data\upd7bin|*.* FileKey3=%commonappdata%\Grisoft\Avg7Data\$history|*.* FileKey4=%commonappdata%\Grisoft\Avg7Data\avg7upd|*.log FileKey5=%windir%\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\upd7bin|*.* FileKey6=%windir%\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\avg7upd|$history FileKey7=%windir%\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\avg7upd|*.log FileKey8=%windir%\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data|*.log FileKey9=%windir%\Application Data\AVG7\Log|*.log [AVG AntiVirus 8.0] ID=2141 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\AVG\Avg8 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\avg8\Log|*.log FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\avg8\scanlogs|*.log FileKey3=%CommonAppData%\avg8\Log|*.xml FileKey4=%CommonAppData%\avg8\update\backup|*.* FileKey5=%CommonAppData%\avg8\Emc\Log|*.log [AVG AntiVirus 9.0] ID=2145 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\AVG\Avg9 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\avg9\Log|*.log FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\avg9\scanlogs|*.log FileKey3=%CommonAppData%\avg9\Log|*.xml FileKey4=%CommonAppData%\avg9\update\backup|*.* FileKey5=%CommonAppData%\avg9\Emc\Log|*.log [AVG AntiVirus 10.0] ID=2170 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\AVG\Avg10 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\avg10\Log|*.log FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\avg10\scanlogs|*.log FileKey3=%CommonAppData%\avg10\Log|*.xml FileKey4=%CommonAppData%\avg10\update\backup|*.* FileKey5=%CommonAppData%\avg10\Emc\Log|*.log FileKey6=%CommonAppData%\avg10\IDS\config|*List.zip.bak FileKey7=%CommonAppData%\avg10\IDS\profile|globalLoadable.bak FileKey8=%CommonAppData%\avg10\Temp|*.tmp However I and many other long-term member here think that a Antivirus/Antimalware needs to handle it's own cleaning (I even think some people may have been having trouble with ccleaner borking thier AVG install but I might be wrong about that) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Indiana Jones (not)
Thanks for reply Nergal - sorry for delay in this reply. My previous version AVG was 11.x and this was listed under CC Utilities and CCleaned but since AVG auto update to AVG 2012. 0.1809 (latest version) I noticed these files were no longer listed in Utilities and therefore not being cleaned. First thought maybe something not installed correctly - hence - uninstall/reinstall but still not listed - suspected bug so posted here. Wondering why it was previously listed and now not? Also, updated to latest (current) version of CC so unistalled that and reinstalled but still no AVG listing. Agree, all should be responsible for cleaning up stuff but beauty of CC is one broom sweeps all (or most of all) but a big pile of junk left is a problem. Look forward to ideas on how to fix/resolve issue. Regards.
Moderators Andavari Posted October 4, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 4, 2011 Member Coffee4Joe has already submitted an AVG 2012 cleaning routine for the winapp2.ini file, see here: http://forum.pirifor...ndpost&p=202196
Indiana Jones (not)
Thanks Andavari for reply and Coffee4Joe link. So, will these AVG2012 updates as set out be included in the next CC update or do I copy/paste the lot from there into where exactly and how, now? Regards. Moderators Andavari Posted October 5, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 5, 2011 If you don't already use the winapp2.ini file here's the instructions: 1. Copy the AVG 2012 cleaner by Coffee4Joe into Notepad. 2. Save as (including the quotes so Notepad doesn't save it as a text document) into the folder where ccleaner.exe is located: "winapp2.ini" 3. Start CCleaner and it should be able to clean AVG 2012. CCleaner will probably have an updated AVG 2012 cleaner included in it by default, but when I don't know. In the meantime the cleaner by Coffee4Joe should suffice.
Indiana Jones (not)
Worked first time! Easy. And then AVG went and auto-updated the 2012 program - but its was ok as the fix worked after the update. I was not familiar using "winapp2.ini" (or any *.ini file) so that was a first for me. Thanks you guys (Andavari,Nergal,TexShane and Coffee4Joe) for prompt replies and sorting out for me. AVG bit ahead issuing 2012 while we still in 2011 but it's a great tool and so is CC. Have NEVER had any problem using CC - so this event was a surprise for me. Also appreciated the (reminder) Advice posted at the end of Nergal post. That was thoughtfull.
