redhawk
Anyone had this problem you open an image attachment but when you go back you cannot type in the reply box?? I can usually tell when there's a problem because "+1" appears in the top left corner. Is this a known forum bug because I'm getting a little P'd off having to keep refreshing the page?? Richard S. Moderators hazelnut Posted September 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2011 Can you point me to an attachment in a post where it happens Richard? So I have to be replying to a post, then decide to look at the said image, then go back to the reply box, is that right? Is your browser Firefox, and does it happen with another browser? Also have you tried pressing the space bar where your cursor is in the reply box, then left-clicking and starting to type? Corona
Why does this sound vaguely familiar to me? I've had moments where my blinking cursor line (to add text) has disappeared but I am still able to type & post. And I have seen a +1 somewhere before...maybe in the browser tab? Moderators hazelnut Posted September 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2011 It's as if focus is taken away from the reply window after viewing the attachment. Sometimes pressing the space bar and moving cursor on and confirming with a left-click gets focus back. redhawk
I should have clarified this better but it's when I open photo attachments posted by other users that cause my typing problems. It hasn't been just one post (like this) but several others ever since the forum software got recently updated. The +1 appears to belong to some stupid Google intergration thingy I don't really understand - https://plusone.goog...pen%2C_resizeMe Richard S. Moderators hazelnut Posted September 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2011 I don't get anything like that Richard. Lets wait til others post here with their findings on this. Do you use Chrome? (just trying to nail things down ) I get this when clicking on your +1 link. This is a forum upload link, do you get the same if it's hosted elsewhere e.g Pixpipline? redhawk
The problem seems to be related to the fact that the edit window doesn't load when I hit browse back. It appears to be working now that I've blocked https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js from loading. Richard S.
Moderators hazelnut Posted September 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2011 .Possibly it's part of the new IP Board software update? I'll check with admin just in case. Moderators Andavari Posted September 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2011 Why does this sound vaguely familiar to me? I've had moments where my blinking cursor line (to add text) has disappeared but I am still able to type & post. Several times over the last year or maybe two I've had Firefox completely unwilling to type in a post for upwards of 1 to 2 minutes before, and of course it's usually when trying to help someone with some detailed instructions. I always thought it was some slow acting up JavaScript issue, and it has happened when posting on the community forum and in PM's.
Moderators DennisD Posted September 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2011 I've had exactly that same effect Richard, with the +1 indicator in the same location. I think I just reloaded the page to get around it, but the first thought I had was that selfsame +1 button has appeared recently on the end of google search entries, I think I was having a look at a new type of search. Google+ I think it's called, and the +1 is to share search links friends. That's a bit vague, but the +1 isn't there normally, and it isn't now as I opted out of using it, but it's a bit much of a coincidence for it to be the exact button that appears in our messenger window. Moderators Andavari Posted September 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2011 It appears to be working now that I've blocked https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js from loading. I blocked that long ago as a "My Ad Blocking Rule" in Adblock Plus, seems to fix some issues if it's blocked.

Hulk
Hi Guys, could any of you provide me with detailed steps to recreate because I have not observed this yet
redhawk
The way to recreate the bug is pretty much the same as described in the post Google plus1 and editor not playing nice. It's also been suggested that the problem can only be recreated using Firefox 3.6.x but not later releases of Firefox. Richard S.

redhawk
You can still download the portable app version of Firefox so it doesn't conflict with any existing copies of Firefox. Perhaps you could check this bug yourself?? Richard S.

Moderators DennisD Posted October 3, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 3, 2011 Just an observation to add which may not have any relevance to Richards issue, but you never know. Although I have never actually "joined" this Google +1 club (there is a join up page), I get the +1 symbols appearing on the end of any google search if I'm logged into Gmail at the same time. This is with Opera. I didn't notice the connection previously as I didn't have a clue at the time what the symbols actually were. As soon as I log out of Gmail, they disappear. But this doesn't happen if I'm logged into Gmail and using Firefox. What I can't do is get it to appear in the post or pm editing window as happened previously. Weird. If it isn't appearing in a search with Firefox when logged into Gmail, why is the +1 appearing with Opera?
Moderators DennisD Posted October 3, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 3, 2011 This forum is doing my head in. This is the umpteenth time I've had to delete and redo a post because it became completely screwed up when using links. A fix for my above issue. The +1 button appears if "Use Google Instant" is checked in the Google home page settings. Select "Do not use Google instant". The +1 symbol doesn't appear now with Opera. That setting must have toggled for whatever reason, as I binned Google Instant some time ago.
login123
Can anyone confirm it happens only in old versions of Firefox? I just installed firefox 7.0.1, with the following add-ons: (wxp home 32bit) adblock plus 1.3.10 mobile barcoder 0.3.0 flash vid, youtube dnldr 2.0.33 download status bar 0.9.8 modify headers 0.7.0.2 header tool 0.3.5 user agent switcher 0.7.3 noscript 2.1.4 default 7.0.1 - - not google +1 Clicking on any linked photo in this forum works normally, can open in new tab, new window, or just view image then go back. After any of those options I can type in the reply box. But if I go to that link in post 12 and try to (right or left) click on the picture, I get a black screen with a white square and a whirling thing. Won't go away. Must reload the page. The first time I went to that page I had a bar at the bottom of the screen saying that java was blocked. At that time, the picture link worked as they do here. But after allowing java to run, the black & white screen comes up and stays until I reload the page. Doesn't make any sense at all to me, but that is what happens. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.
