Super Fast
I remember reading about this years back. Cool how far they have come though. I hope they eventually reach the stage that they can use ordinary materials to recycle & produce foods. My hope is that instead of using "inks", they will reach a point where the basic atomic nature of different food elements are known, then be able to take atoms from common objects & rearrange them to form food from nonfood items. Still cool, nonetheless!

Super Fast
The ink will probably cost a lot more than the printer, kind of like the situation today. New cheap printers, $35 including demo ink cartridges. Would you rather keep the printer (& buy new ink for $35 for color & $22 for black), or throw it away & get a new printer AND ink? Hahaha! No wonder we live in a throw away society! Fix the greed!
Moderators Andavari Posted September 18, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 18, 2011 .......Star Trek........Replicator Oh how I wish, even microwaves are slow to me. I've seen those 3D printers on some TV shows where they make parts or whole objects in small scale before going to big manufacturing, I've even seen tools made on TV shows using them. I never thought someone would use them for food though, but it's just a matter of swapping out the "printing material" with something edible, still strange though. Those printers are expensive. What's for dinner tonight honey, oh let me print it. I hope it doesn't jam!
