I think the entries listed below should be removed from Winapp2.ini

[Apple Installer Cache*]

[Registry Transaction Logs*]

Also the highlighted lines should be removed from the [Windows Live Messenger More*] entry.

[Apple Installer Cache*]

Can you tell us why, please? The "Apple Installer Cache" entry does not prevent updates or an uninstallation.

Thanks for your modified entries.

I have a Windows 7 system with 2 user accounts. I added another account. I was not able to open iTunes from the newely created user account, It was asking me that the installer is not present. I have to uninstall the iTunes and re-install it.

As for the [Registry Transaction Logs*] entry can you tell why there is a need to remove the .regtrans-ms files from the system? Most of these files are locked and even you try to remove them they will come back after rebooting the system.

By the way these files are present in other locations also not just the locations included in the entry.

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService

C:\Windows\System32\config

C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile

Strange, iTunes showed this behaviour only after I removed the empty subfolders from the cache folder. That's why the entry doesn't remove the subfolders and deletes the files only. Anyway I think it's better to add a warning line for this special case, instead of removing the entry. I never had problems with QuickTime and iTunes until now.

Warning=You have to reinstall iTunes after adding a new windows user account.

Thanks for your information. I don't use this entry. So the creator of the entry should comment this please.

'Warning' in the entry explains it why.

My suggestion is that entries for deleting setup files should be separate entries always. So everybody will be happy. :)

+1 this could be done to all entries which contains "dangerous" Filekeys and/or a warning message.

New:

[WinHasher*]
LangSecRef=3024
Detect=HKCU\Software\GPF Comics\WinHasher
Default=False
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\GPF Comics\WinHasher|LastDirectory

Edit:

I've just noticed there's more than one WinHasher program floating about, the cleaner I made is for the Free/GNU GPL one made by Jeffrey T. Darlington available at: http://code.google.com/p/winhasher/

I've long since passed that point for my own computer, and have to download random software I find to make cleaners for them :P

Usually trending ones I find on CNET or FileHippo, the like.

Wow, if you're that enthusiastic perhaps I should send you a list of all the programs on my computer, you can do them for me :P

What other application? Those entries aren't even in the winapp2.ini file that's in this thread.

CCleaner can't delete files in use, also make sure you've unchecked only clean temp files older than 24 hours.
