Winapp2.ini additions

Recommended Posts

I'm switching the file hosting to winapp2.com, so I'm going to modify the file to link there instead of ccleaner.de

I'll fix up the links in the top post as well.

Nico has informed me he is taking down the site, so I'd like to publically thank him for allowing me to host the file there for the past year. Thanks a lot, Nico! :)

I've had it for a while, but have just been incredibly lazy in setting it up! :lol:

Any changes in the actual Winapp2.ini file?

Nope, I'll push all the modifications to the entries in the next version. I've been kind of slow on it the last three months as I've been busy with school work.

My OS = Windows 7 home premium, 32-bit version, english language USA version.

I have been using CCleaner & CCEnhancer & Winapp2.ini for several years now. It had been a few months since I last updated any of them, so on May 21, 2012, I downloaded & installed the very latest versions of all of them. I also downloaded & used "trim.bat".

After running & configuring everything (& no, I didn't RUN CCleaner when "trim.bat" told me not to), I used CCleaner's primary function. So far, so good. Then I opened up a folder in my pictures section, one that only has 15 pictures in it, for a total of 82.9 MBs. After letting Windows render them as thumbnails, I went up one folder, then back into that very same folder a half second later. Instead of the thumbnails either being already rendered or only taking a half second (give or take) to re-render, all of their thumbnails were blank, & I had to wait for Windows to render them as if it was the first time that I had ever been to that folder.

This is the very FIRST time that this has ever happened to me before. My question is, was this problem caused by either the new CCleaner, the new CCEnhancer, the new Winapp2.ini, or the "trim.bat", & if so, then what can I do about it?

I've seen that winapp2.ini adds a "Visual Studio Backup" entry.

Could you add an entry to clean the Visual Studio Search History?

You have to look at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\<Visual Studio version>\Find

Where <Visual Studio version> can be 10.0, 9.0 etc.

Inside this key there are values called

  • Find
  • Find0
  • Find1
  • Find2
  • Find3
  • etc.

You should delete them.

Yeah, sorry. This update fell between my finals (and packing up to go home), so I've been a bit occupied. It's on its way shortly. :)

FileKey1=%AppData%\Lunascape\Lunascape6\backup|*.*|RECURSE

And the Jagex cache support do not work fine. (Win XP, Official Jagex Client)

DetectFile1=%WinDir%\.jagex_cache_32

DetectFile2=%UserProfile%\jagexcache

FileKey3=%UserProfile%|jagex__preferences*.dat

FileKey4=%UserProfile%|jagex_cl_runescape_LIVE*.dat

FileKey5=%UserProfile%|jagex_runescape_preferences*.dat"

It's always C:\ (My system partition for windows is F but the cache file is on C (only document stuff))

This one reset all my settings! That's completly useless!

I'll fix that entry up, thanks :)

There's nothing to fix. It's meant to clean all Jagex-files (I'd prefer folders, too), and you can exclude or untick these entries if needed.

I don't think the %WinDir% should be changed either, you can include them if you have custom paths.

Try it if you don't believe:

=> This make no sense...

And everybody has the cache file on C:\ so why do you use %WinDir%?
